Where
do I start? I thought this YAR was simply
amazing. On the
surface, it may have seemed like an ordinary YAR, but the implications I saw were far from ordinary. What I saw at
YAR were men, men of God. I saw a future for our church future
leaders, fathers, and , yes, pastors (and I foresee them
giving very beautiful vignettesâ I'm sorry. Did that sound
feminine?). Most importantly when I remember this YAR, I will
remember the YAR when I saw young men crying out to God.
I
came to this YAR not sure of what to expect. To be honest, I
expected to see the usual group of young men looking pretty
and tough. But something has changed...drastically. There was
such a freedom from the moment we got there. We've all had our
fill of the routine, I guess. We're tired of ho-hum, lackadaisical worship. We've all grown
up (for the most part!). And I can't say what a sigh of relief
I breathed.. Oh God, this is what it was meant to be! What really iced the cake was the prayer concert on Saturday
night. They weren't fancy elaborate prayers filled with
theology and doctrine, but they were from the heart. Every one
of them. And they were our prayers... God , we're not perfect
but we want you.
And
how could we forget the
svveeeeeeet fellowship. All those
jokes...I must say Paul and Jojy should do some sort of comedy
act. They are just too much! Yes, Sony, you too, Mr. Pata!
There
was such a bonding there. We all felt it. No clicks or clubs
just the YAR BROTHERHOOD
(hey I like dat!). I know for me this
YAR was a turning point..... to new and greater things.
In Him,
Ben Harris.
I
thank God for the opportunity to attend the
Winter '04 YAR.
From the first meeting on Friday evening, it was clear that
God's presence was there and that He was going to do something
special. I found the weekend to be very encouraging.
God made it very clear that He is
faithful to finish the work
that He has started in us. It was wonderful to see so
many of the guys come up without prodding and share what God
has been speaking to them and doing in their lives.
I
would also like to
thank God for the ministers who spent many
hour praying and preparing to make this a very beneficial
weekend for all of us. Spending time with the
'Brotherhood' was tons of fun! :)
