Welcome to The Tonight Show
I'm your host Chung Lao.
Ahh
yes, Kiara. Where
do I begin? Akua
(a DC native),
is a person with a unique blend of style and wit.
She is a really interesting person to have a conversation with,
she's quick on her feet, and has her head on straight to
boot.....
......although
I must tell you, every 17 years, she gets the urge to run into
the forest and capture cicadas. Nice.

Chung
Lao: Hey Akua, how are you?
Akua:
I’m
fine
Chung
Lao: What does the name "Akua" mean?
Akua:
It
is a traditional name for a girl born on Wednesday
Chung
Lao: Give us your take on George W. vs. John Kerry?
Akua:
Hmmm……..
I’m a bit biased, considering my absolute disdain for George dubbya’s
ignorance and leadership style if you can call it that. I do not appreciate the
way he avoids responding to
questions by answering in a round-a-bout way; why not just say “I dunno” I
wasn't prepped for that. It would be an honest answer. I also do not like the
way he is using his so called “success as a leader” during 9/11 as a
campaign strategy. What success!!??? So you found Sadaam hiding in a whole
after just about blowing up every bit of the Middle East, using that to
distract Americans from the real question at hand: where the heck is Osama Bin
Laden (Side note: In my parents dialect – Twi. Ghost is Osaman hmmm… i.e.
Osama is Ghost. lol I digress) As for John
Kerry, I’m not really sure how I feel about him. I am still trying to
get past his face J
Chung
Lao: What do you think of IndaPhatFarm.com?
Akua:
I think it is an
interesting, informative, and entertaining site with something for everyone.
Chung
Lao: Name some countries you would like to visit, and why.
Akua:
I
would love to visit Greece, Monaco, South Africa, Japan, Bali, and Hawaii. Each
place has a unique cultural and aesthetic aspect that I would love to
experience.
Chung
Lao: Sources are telling me that you can cook.
What’s the lunch special?
Akua:
Hmmm..
what sources? No but I can cook a little somthin somthin, although breakfast is
my specialty.
Chung
Lao: So does that make you, or Ama, Queen of the kitchen?
Akua:
Ama
is
definitely a better/ more experienced cook but I wouldn’t call her the Queen
;-)
Chung
Lao: Do you agree/disagree with the sentencing for the serial snipers, John
Allen Muhammed – Death, Lee Malvo – Life in Prison
Akua:
Personally,
I feel like they are equally responsible for the shootings and should be equally
punished. I kind of feel a little sympathy for Lee Malvo, considering he was
heavily influenced by Muhammed: one of the adults in his life that he respected
and looked up to that led him to this fate at such a young age.
Chung
Lao:
Give us your
take on interracial marriage.
Akua:
I love to see interracial couples. I think it is a beautiful union of diversity
that has both advantages and disadvantages. Forget about all that pure race
crap. (my apologies if I offend anyone) Ex: Advantages: gorgeous children who
are able to experience and learn about diff. cultures; Disadvantages:
possibility of family opposition; confusion with identity of children.Chung
Lao:
Define the ideal church, even if its not realistic.
Akua:
Wow,
I have never been to one and I don’t think one exists; I would assume that it
would be a church were the love of God is first and foremost and therefore allow
everyone’s hearts to be fully opened to receive of the word of God, and
worship is a willing offering that ushers the believers into the presence of the
Lord.
Chung
Lao:
What is the role of the woman of the house?
Akua:
To
love, support, respect, and care for her husband and children
Chung
Lao:
What is the role of the man of the house?
Akua:
To
love, support, respect, protect, and provide for his wife and children
Chung
Lao:
What is the role of the pets of the house?
Akua:
Don’t
know I don’t have any.
Chung
Lao:
I would like to conduct a shopping with Akua Pipim piece, similar to the
shopping with Paul Moses adventure. You
game?
Akua:
Definitely,
bring it on. The question is – are you ready for me?
Chung
Lao:
Honey BBQ Ribs vs Krispy Kreme chocolate covered custard filled donuts.
Akua:
How
about both?, but I only eat the original glazed Krispy Kreme’s (mouth watering
at the thought J
Chung
Lao:
Do you think that the trait of intelligence is passed down from parent to
child, or is it an earned trait?
Akua:
I
believe it’s learned
Chung
Lao:
What are the most important things in life?
Akua:
Trite
but true: God, Family (even the crazy ones), friends, and having fun &
enjoying life.
Chung
Lao:
If a girl punches a guy. Is
the guy then authorized to return fire?
Akua:
Uhh…
no, I think not.
Chung
Lao:
How long until Joe Gibbs brings the Vince Lombardi back to Washington?
Akua:
Vince
who? I mean just because I watch the game by default (Dad & Kwaku vs. Akua)
does’nt mean I’m actually paying attention.

Akua: Yes,
the signs are everywhere
Chung
Lao:
Give us a fond memory of your Grandmother.
Akua:
After
Grace and Vinod got married, she would go up to them every Sunday after church,
smiling, laughing, and chanting, “Don Doh”.
I asked my Mom what in meant and she was like, “oh its just something
we say to newlyweds”. I recently found out that it actually means, “You
don’t know,” (hint: what are you getting into) but she did ;-)
Chung
Lao:
Do you ever walk outside, look up at the
stars, and dream?
Akua:
You
can’t see any stars here!! lol but honestly, I can dream my most
imaginative dreams no matter where I am.

Ignorance
Chung

large dining room and kitchen, with an indoor recreation room, and an outdoor
inground pool.
Chung
Lao: What is the
best way to witness about Christ?
Akua:
Through your life and the way you treat others.
Chung
Lao: So how is
your Ghanain coming along? How about your Malayalam?
Akua:
You mean Twi, (pronounced Tree) which is the dialect that we speak. I still
understand more than I can speak. My Malayalam is minimal, I know the
essentials.
Chung
Lao: “It’s
been a long day at work, and as you step on to the green line train, and glide
into your seat (with your handbag FIRMLY in your grip)
;), all you can think about is a warm meal, and a warm bed.
As you lean your head against the rail and are about to drift off, you
notice a strangely dressed, but familiar looking woman entering the train, and
looking straight at you with wide eyes. Sitting
down right next to you, she begins a conversation.
“My name is Hannah” she says. “Hi,
I’m Akua, my mom’s name is Hannah too actually” you reply.
“I know” Hannah replies.
“You Know?
What’s that supposed to mean?” After
some more conversation, you come to realize that the person you are talking to,
Hannah, is actually your daughter. She’s
come back from the future to see the mother that she never knew.
The only thing is, she can only stay for a few minutes, before she is
forced to travel back.
Give us your
thoughts. What questions would you
ask her?
Akua:
Nice little insert about my purse lol (inside joke) Wow, I wouldn’t even know
where to begin, I suppose I would ask her about the future, why she never met
me. Then I would probably be a little suspicious of a women who tells she is
from the future, and I’d have to rebuke that !! lol
Chung
Lao: Lastly, leave us with a
parting thought.
Akua: Live life for
God and no one else
Chung Lao:
Thanks Akua. Next up on
