Frank was the first to climb down from the tree. They had climbed it in their flight from the huge man hunter. Signaling that the coast was clear, the rest of Alpha climbed down. Chris B was getting weak and his injuries were taking their toll. He would not survive many more days.

Moving silently along the road they had begun traveling, they came upon an information station, like the kind you see at an amusement park. “Ok, if I’m reading this right, there is a dock about 3 miles from where we are now. If we can make it there, maybe we can find a boat.” said Becky. “Agreed” said Vinod.

After about an hour, they were at the main gate. “Hey, look at this” said Chris B. “Look at these footprints.” “They look…..human” said Frank, visibly startled. “We’ve never even been here before, how can there be fresh footprints!!??” replied Becky. “I don’t know how or why, but we are not alone on this island.”

Before Frank could even get up, four raptors launched themselves from the trees. They moved with unbelievable speed. Almost on instinct, the four remaining members of Alpha formed up with their backs to each other. “Surrounded” muttered Vinod.

The head raptor appeared to be female. She snapped her head back and forth and hissed something at the other three raptors. Becky could see the hunger and fury in their eyes. As if taking pleasure in their prey’s fear, the raptors closed slowly.

It was possible that some of them could survive this, thought Vinod. The gate was only a quick sprint away. But Vinod was no fool. He knew that not all of them would survive the next minute.

Run!

Chapter 3: Spinosaurus

It was still dark out when Soy was jolted awake by the banging and scratching at the door. Sam and Binu were at the door desperately trying to block it with anything that was in the room, even using their bodies as leverage. When Soy looked at the small window in the doorway, she knew why. Raptors. They must have followed them into this building.

Atleast 2 or 3 raptors were furiously banging against the door trying to get in. The smell of fresh meat was driving them berserk, and they were wildly slashing at the door. Bravo had to get out, and fast. That was when Crystal noticed it. A ventilation shaft about 1 ft from the ceiling. “Quick! We have to get into that shaft” she yelled.

“Someone has to stay behind and hold the door” Binu yelled back, clearly exhausted from holding the door back from the killing machines. Before anyone could react, Sam bolted from his position at the door and jumped headfirst into the shaft. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Soy and Crystal jumped into the shaft about three seconds after Sam. That left only Binu and Jessy to hold the door.

“Forget this!!” Binu yelled as he ran from his position at the door and into the shaft closing the shaft plate behind him. Jessy tried to remove the plate, but it was jammed shut. She frantically searched for some kind of tool to loosen the shaft door, but before she could move, the door burst open in a loud bang that knocked her to the floor. When she came to about a minute later, Jessy Joykutty was staring straight into the eyes of a Velociraptor.

Moving at a rapid pace down the shaft, the remnants of Bravo Team finally emerged through the rear shaft exit, at the back of the compound. Running at full speed and into the jungle, Bravo didn’t stop until they were a good 2 miles from the compound, collapsing near a huge tree. The sun was rising.

Crystal could barely speak, she was so out of breath. Good Lord, why had this happened. Why didn’t she just stay at home and not take this flight. Binu was on the ground gasping for air, as was Sam. Soy was leaning against a tree for some kind of support, and Jessy, she was….

“Jessy! Where is Jessy” she screamed. “I thought she was right behind me” said Sam. “We have to find her!” Soy retorted. Moving slowly in the direction that they had come, Bravo searched for any sign of Jessy. They found none.

It was too late to go back for her now, if they did, they would all be killed. To make matters worse, in the rush to escape, no one had remembered to bring any food or water. Wearily setting out again, the team managed to find another road with a worn out sign saying INGEN DOCK 5 miles. They decided to try and reach it.

People are dying on this island, Soy thought. I had better start looking out for myself. Soy didn’t know this, but every remaining member of Bravo was thinking the very same thing.

-----------------------------------

After the noises had subsided, Alpha decided to bed down for the night. It was an uneasy sleep though, as the team realized that anything big enough to make a building shake, was something they needed to avoid.

At first light, Alpha set out along the same path that had brought them to the complex. After about a mile of walking, the ground began to shake. Chris B and Jason were thrown to the ground. “What was that!” said Vinod. It was eerily similar to the rumblings of last night. “Whatever it is, its getting closer” said Frank.

“What is that noise, do you hear that?” said Becky. “What noise??” Jason replied. “Sounds like a phone ringing” “What?!!” said Vinod. Becky began moving back down the road to where the sound was coming from. “Hey, wait a minute, that sounds like my cell phone” said Frank. “You had a cell phone with you??” Vinod said suspiciously. “It was on the plane, it must have been in the wreckage, but why am I hearing it now?”

That was when they saw it. It was huge. Much bigger than a T-REX, with a huge mouth, and a long sail on its back. The sound of a phone ringing was coming from this monster. With a deafening roar, the frightening meat eater charged.

RUN

Alpha ran as fast as they could, but the huge beast was gaining. Vinod, Chris B and Becky, and Frank had managed to stay together, but Jason was lagging behind. Jason pushed himself hard and was about to catch up to the rest of Alpha, when he tripped and fell. With frightening closing speed, the huge beast opened its alligator like mouth and snapped Jason in two.

Sliding down an embankment and running east, Alpha tore through the jungle. They were terrified. They had to get off this island, and fast.

Somewhere close by, a phone continued to ring.

Bravo decided to make for the INGEN dock. Nobody would even speak. Who could they trust? If Jessy was left for dead, then who would be next?

They were about a mile into the trip, when Soy spoke. “Everyone, hang on a second. I can’t do this anymore. Someone here is lying, and someone here, is a blood thirsty killer. I can’t continue like this.” “So….what are you saying” asked Sam. “What I’m saying is, if any of you try anything, I’ll be forced to use this” with that, Soy pulled out a Colt 45. “I’ll take the rear, lets everyone stay sane, and keep moving.” Binu seemed to motion something to Sam, but said nothing, and Bravo continued on.

Soon they approached the outer gate to the main dock. It was pretty rusted, and the jungle had grown all over it. The gate itself was swinging eerily back and forth. After cautiously moving past the main gate, Bravo could make out a small ship in the distance that looked seaworthy. “We’re saved!” said Crystal.

Being as stealthy as possible, Bravo made their way to the main loading area of the dock. The small ship was anchored in place, in the small harbor of the island. The problem was, there was no rope or chain connecting the ship with the dock. The ship was about 300 ft from the dock, so if they wanted to make it on board, they would have to swim.

“Well, let’s go” said Soy, removing her shoes. In doing so, she pocketed the pistol.

Binu motioned Sam.
