The Tidal Wave of Death
& Message Boards are Back
A.
"What do you do when you see a huge wave-wall coming at you? You run. You run as
fast as you can. You think: "This is surreal." But you keep running ...
until the water lifts you off your feet and sweeps you onwards. It makes
no difference whether you can swim or not.
The force carries you forward, and you become a
living, breathing projectile. Grab onto something and you may live. Surf
the wave and you have a chance. Hit something solid, and you die."
- CNN.com
Can
you imagine being on one of those beaches?
The ocean level suddenly drops right before your eyes, and you can see the
seabed. Then a distant rumbling. You see a huge white wave.
You
rub your eyes.
This can't be happening....

Just like that,
people, families, and entire villages were wiped out. Estimates are
nearing
50,000 lost
from multiple countries in South Asia.
I think we are being sent a message as the new year approaches. Not one of
us is guaranteed tomorrow.

mind of its own. This was one of those times. In any case, the
boards have been restored. Due to the MB situation, our original media clip will be released next week.

Silent Night - Holy Night, New Interview
& More..
A.
All is Calm: Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of everyone here at
IPF, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas. There is one reason for
the season and his name is Jesus Christ. His birth gave hope to the world.
Let's not forget that.
B.
Michael William George has been interviewed for
The Tonight Show.

He is our
25th
interviewee.
C.
WUCAFAA FUNDRAISER PROGRAM: The second showing of the
Christmas program will take place this coming Sunday. All proceeds go
toward the renewal of the Christian school. Please come out if you can.
"A Night to Remember"
December 26th, 2004 - 6:00 PM
New Covenant Church
3311 Toledo Terrace. Suite A-101
Hyattsville, MD 20782
Admission: $7 per person / Children 12 & Under Free.
D.
The Showdown of the Year:
Shaq vs Kobe. The beef between these two has been well
documented. Kobe didn't want to be Robin to Shaq's Batman, and Shaq was
fed up with this arrogant kid who didn't show enough respect.
Well Christmas Day,
we're going to see the gloves come off, when these two meet for their first head
to head match up. Shaq has never been one of my favorite NBA players, but
I am rooting for the big man in this game. Kobe must learn what a big, big
mistake he made in imploding the best thing he had going for him.
In any
case, don't expect any of this:

E.
An IPF Event: All, be sure to check back in on Monday,
December 27th, for the release of an IPF original media clip. Much Love.

Announcement,
'ALM' Updated
& IPF Catch Phrase....
A.
Sup All. Pictures/Media from NTC events will no longer be posted.
Simply put, NTC has asked that we not represent them by putting up
pictures/media of their events. I know there's been a lot of talk on the
Message Boards about this, so I wanted to give you all the heads up.
Don't worry, we have a lot of new pictures/media in the works. For
December, new pics will be up tomorrow, in addition, we have an IPF Original
media clip set to premiere on
Dec
27th.
Look for it.
Remember, we are IPF. You know how we do.

IPF Catch Phrase Contest: Just a reminder that our Catch
Phrase contest ends this Wednesday. If you haven't submitted an idea, give
it a go.

D .
Eagles 17 Redskins 14: The outstanding play of the
Washington defense has gone to a complete waste this season. The defense
fought hard all through this game, shutting down T.O. and McNabb, but once
again, the ineptitude of the offense cost us what would have been a HUGE
win.

I
have a few suggestions:
1.
Let's try
throwing the ball vertically down the field. This horizontal dink and dunk
stuff isn't working.
2.
Let's try
getting to the line of scrimmage and hiking the ball before the play clock runs
out. Let me know if I'm asking too much here?
3.
Shawn
Springs is the man.

D .
Eagles 28 Redskins 6: Well, for 3 quarters
the Redskins (3-7) hung tough, but in the end, the Eagles (9-1) just
had more firepower. The defense was able to limit the game's
best receiver, Terrell Owens (and also the one with the biggest
mouth), to one touchdown and 2 catches, but he broke the game open
with his score.

Calling One,Calling All:
The IPF Catch Phrase Contest
Before I get into anything else, let me say that the most important item on the
agenda is the continued prayer for
Jason from Yonkers.
A. IndaPhatFarm.com is pleased to announce our…
T-Shirt
"Catch Phrase"
Contest

Back on January 28, 2001, IPF launched as a website for family and
friends. Because of all of you,
IndaPhatFarm.com has become so much more. Almost four years later, with 3375
Pictures and counting, 95 Media Clips and counting, 23 Interviews and counting,
Consistent Updates from Quality Writers, and moreover, readers across the United
States, as well as Internationally, IPF shows no signs of slowing down. We are dedicated to bring you the best. We always have,
and will
continue doing so.
This is why we play. This is what it’s all about.
What’s the reason for the T-Shirts you ask?
Well, there are two reasons:
1. We would like to continue gaining your support for this
website, and at the same time, give you something in return.
2. IPF needs YOUR help. We figure that indaphatfarm.com is a site
for the people, and by the people. No better than to ask the people for
our new
catch phrase, which will be placed on the t-shirt itself. We’re asking all of
our readers to enter our contest by sending us IPF’s new catch phrase.
What is a catch phrase?
catch phrase
n.
A phrase in wide or popular use, especially one
serving as a slogan for a group or movement.
Examples of famous catch phrases:
“Skittles…Taste the Rainbow”, “Steak, It’s What’s For Dinner”, “Just Do It”
Contest Rules
This contest is open to
anyone who can come up with an urban, edgy, and smart catch phrase that captures IPF’s spirit. Members from the same family are eligible to vote. Void where
prohibited.
With regard to an entry you submit as part of the
Contest, you grant IPF a worldwide, perpetual, fully paid-up, non-exclusive
license to use the phrase.
If you are selected as a contest winner, you
agree that IPF may publicize your name, likeness, and the winning catch phrase.
Apart from the prizes associated with being selected as a winner, IPF shall not
be obligated to compensate you in any way for such publicity.
Entries for the T-Shirt Contest will officially
start being accepted today, November 15, 2004 and the closing date for entries
will be December 15, 2004 @ 11:59PM.
Judging
After the closing date for entries (December 15, 2004 @ 11:59 PM),
IPF staff will narrow down the list of entries to three entries. Entries will
be narrowed down by a panel of IPF staff. The judges will grade entries using
the following criteria:
-
General utility and importance to the site
-
Creativity
The judges shall have the sole authority and discretion to select the final
three entries.
Once three entries have been selected, IPF will allow the readers of IPF (that
means YOU!) to vote on your preferred catch phrase.
Prizes
Winner will receive a FREE IPF T-Shirt and a
$30.00 gift voucher to a place of winner’s choice. If the winning entry is
submitted by more than one individual, the voucher will be divided equally and
each individual will receive a T-Shirt.
Runner ups will both receive a FREE IPF T-Shirt.
Each entrant shall indemnify, defend, and hold IPF harmless from any third party
claims arising from or related to that entrant's participation in the contest.
In no event shall IPF be liable to an entrant for acts or omissions arising out
of or related to the contest or that entrant's participation in the contest.
Odds of winning depend on the number and quality of entries received. Winner(s)
may be required to verify their entry.
Notification
The winning entry will be announced on IPF on January 1,2005. Following the
announcement, the winner will be notified by e-mail.

DC United are MLS CHAMPIONS:
Don't get it twisted. All right, I'm not a big
soccer fan, BUT being the only DC team to have won a championship in the past
decade is worth mentioning.

C.
Bengals 17 Redskins 10: Well, I'm a realist. At 3-6,
the Skins aren't going to make the playoffs as I thought they were at the
beginning of the season.
If there was one positive from yesterday's game, it was the fact that
BRUNELL GOT BENCHED.
Patrick Ramsey gives us the best chance to win.

This whole season has been disappointing for sure, but I haven't given up.
It's just going to take longer than expected to turn the franchise around.
I'll leave you with 2 relevant quotes:
----------------------------------------
"The
first phase of the second Gibbs Era -- the dream of a quick fix -- has died. It
took 11 years to dismantle the tradition and morale that Gibbs built long ago.
He may be able to revive it. But it's going to take time. And probably, from the
looks of these first nine games, quite a bit of it.
"-
Thomas Boswell, Washington Post
----------------------------------------
"I
wouldn't have it any other way," said linebacker Marcus Washington, who is
emerging as a team leader. "It doesn't get any easier. But nobody is running.
Nobody's packing the tent. Nobody's running home to momma. You gotta Cowboy Up."

D.
So Bush Wins: Finally, the campaign hoopla ends. Day after day after day of Bush vs Kerry, Kerry vs
Bush.
Does George W have a chance to be remembered as one of the greatest presidents
in U.S. history?
It's
possible.
Keep in mind the fact that Harry Truman, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan were
disliked by a large portion of the country while they were in office.
However, as years and decades passed, time was good to them.
Enough said.......for now.
E.
Redskins 17 Lions 10: You know every year, right when the
Redskins seem ready to implode and let their fans down, they give you a glimmer
of hope. Not only did the Skins win yesterday, but every team in their
division
LOST,
giving us a chance at redemption. At
3-5,
that is all I have to say.
In other NFL news.
How about Ben
Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers?
This guy is a rookie, and he's 6-0 as a starter. The NFL chews up and
spits out rookie's all the time, that's what makes Roethlisberger's feat that
much more incredible. The Steelers are just dangerous right now.
They have a smart and talented QB, surrounded by a ton of weapons. Hines
Ward (pictured doing a T.O. impersonation),
Plaxico Burress, Jerome Bettis
(The Bus),
Duce Staley, and perhaps best of all, a turnover hungry defense. After
beating up on 2 undefeated teams the past two weeks, the Pittsburgh Steelers
have become the team to beat in the NFL.

Chris M: Last, but not least, Chris M's update has been
moved to this coming weekend. Look for it.

C.
Game Time: Well it's come down to this. Kerry or Bush.
All the campaigning has come to and end.
It's GAME TIME. If your
voting for John Kerry, fine. If your voting for George Bush, fine.
You know where I stand. Just let me repeat something that IPF
webmaster
Binu
stated in a previous update, if you don't know anything about the
issues, don't vote. I don't want my vote canceled out by you.

In any case, I'm glad this election is about to be over. As IPF webmaster
Benj stated last Thursday, this campaign season has dragged on for way too long.
Speaking of the election........
Here's an Interesting fact about the Redskins & the Election:
"Since
voters elected Franklin Roosevelt to his first of four terms in 1932, the
Redskins have forecasted the next President. Over the past 18 elections, a
Redskins win the weekend before Election Day has preceded a win by the incumbent
party. On the other hand, a Redskins loss before the vote has preceded a loss by
the incumbent party."
D.
Packers 28 Redskins 14: So Kerry wins right?
18 straight elections
is as good an indicator as any poll at this point, but I digress. Back to
more pressing issues. You know what time it is?
IT'S TIME
TO BENCH MARK BRUNELL
"But Chris,
he's making millions of dollars, you can't just bench him." How about
YES.
The passing game of the Washington Redskins is anemic. So where does the
blame lie?
Squarely on
the shoulders of #8, Mark Brunell.
Now, do I have complete faith in his backup, Patrick Ramsey, the answer is no.
But at 2-5, the Redskins need a spark from the QB position, and their not
getting it now.
In other NFL
News, Terrell Owens doing the Ray Lewis? Wow.

Ray Ray can't show his
face in Philly ever again.
Lastly, let me
leave you all with this. At almost the mid point of the season, I think
it's safe to say who got the better of the
Portis-Bailey swap.
Shut Down Corner? I DON'T THINK SO. Jon?

Philip & Sherly's Wedding Pictures: Check
out 24 pics from the wedding. IPF would like to congratulate
the bride and groom. Big up to Vinod, Stanley, Leeva, Beulah and Gloria.

C.
Let's Talk About the President: All right, let me start off by listing
what I don't like about W. As a President, and as a leader, you have to be
able to speak and convey your positions well. He is the head of the country, and his inability to speak well has cost us abroad.
The War In Iraq:
This is the biggest knock against GWB. But let's examine a key fact.
Hindsight is
20/20
Looking back on the war now, was there an imminent need to invade Iraq?
The answer is no. But that is only b/c we now know there were no WMD's in
Iraq at the time of the invasion. Now having said that, Bush,
AND JOHN KERRY
I might add, looked at the same intelligence reports and came to the conclusion
that Saddam had to be removed. I think a lot of people like to
conveniently forget that little fact about John Kerry.
You say, "Chris, the U.S. can't just go gallavanting around the world knocking
over regimes for oil. It's not right."
For my answer, tune in next week as I continue this ongoing series.......
D.
Redskins 13 Bears 10: So the bleeding stops. This
wasn't a great win, but after losing 4 straight, believe me,
I'm not
complaining.
171 yards rushing by Clinton Portis. He can rack up yards like Walter
Payton when he's got the juice. On the flip side, defense made plays when
they had to, although Thomas Jones was able to rack up good yardage.

Here's what I didn't
like from both teams. The quarterback play was pathetic. I feel like
benching
Mark
Brunell and
starting Patrick Ramsey, but the memory of the debacle in New York is still too
fresh in my memory. Ramsey lost that game for us. Still, if we can't get a passing game going, we're not going to be able to beat the elite teams.
Jonathan Quinn
(Bears QB) is garbage. I'm sure IPF Chicago Rep Jon Flores will touch on this later,
but if this guy completed even 2-3 more passes (instead of overthrowing his
receivers), the Bears win this game.

E.
Research & Development: R & D is working on some new additions to this site.

D.
Ravens 17 Redskins 10: It's going to be a long season. I'm not going to lie to you.
I'm very disappointed, but writing about it seems to help. The Washington
Redskins are now (1-4),
which in the feisty NFC East, is a monumental hole to climb out of. Our
defense continues to play hard, and keep us in games, but Clinton Portis and the
rest of our offense can't seem to get anything done.

Portis is routinely stopped for minimal gains, and somewhere
in Colorado, Mike Shannahan is smiling. On the QB side, Mark Brunell can't
seem to spark the offense.
Yes, we weren't blown out in our last 4 losses , but the point
is WE LOST. Good teams find ways to win regardless. Just ask the New
England Patriots (19 straight wins), but I digress.
The Skins seem to always find a way to lose. Does Joe
Gibbs have to shoulder the blame for these losses? Of course. He's
the man in charge and this has happened on his watch. But let me say again
here, I DON'T QUIT WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, and I am a Washington Redskins fan
as well as a JG fan for life.
So having said that, the one comfort I am taking out of all
this is that JG has been in worse situations, and unlike the Steve Spurrier era,
these players are fighting hard, and that is as good a place to start as any.

Monday, October

2004 - Chung Lao
IPF NEWS,
Who is John Kerry? &
BELIEVE.....
A.
Before I get started,
I want to take this time to specifically shout out the Inspirations writers of IPF.
Greg, Llenis, Liza, and Ben. They have gone out of
their way to write for us, even at times when internet access wasn't readily
available. We appreciate it.

B.
THE IPF POLL: After a long hiatus, the IPF Poll has
returned. So what are the results of the first poll question, "Who will
make the world a safer place?"
Bush
75% Kerry 25%
Which is my lead in for.........
C.
The Debate: The time has come for me to throw my hat into
the ring. This election is without question the most important of my
lifetime, and with under a month left till election day, it's time to make a
stand.
First, let me say a few things. John
Kerry was the more poised candidate during the Thursday night debate.
George Bush
looked tired and agitated. In addition, towards the end of the
debate, GW was extremely redundant with his phrases, which made it seem like he
wasn't prepped properly, which may/may not be true. Now having said all
of that, let me remind you of this, JK is an accomplished politician and debater.
His greatest skill is taking a position and defending it, even if that position
isn't his own.
The Pro-Kerry Media
Frenzy:
A lot of people in the
Media are shouting from the hilltops that John Kerry destroyed George
W. Bush during this past debate. If you want style over substance, then sure,
vote for John Kerry, who is trying to fool the
American people into thinking that everything he said before the debate didn't
count.
"What's that you say Chris?"
Well let's examine some points:

That was just the tip
of the iceberg. John Kerry will say anything to anyone to get himself
elected. This is not a man I want in the White House when it's time to
make the tough decisions. There are many people out there that hate Bush
so much that they would vote for anyone running against him. Kerry knows
this. Let's examine some points:
1. Point:
On Thursday Night, Kerry said that the $200 Billion being spent in Iraq could
have been spent on domestic programs. Hmm. In April 2003, on Meet
the Press, Tim Russert asked JK, how much more money needs to be spent in Iraq,
to which JK replied, "as much money as it takes to win." Busted.
2. Point:
On Thursday night, why did JK ask the American people to go to his website?
Couldn't he spell out his 4 point plan for Iraq himself?
3.
Point: In
John Kerry's own words, he would like to conduct:

Hallmark card anyone?
4. Point:
During the debate, John Kerry actually proposed giving Iran nuclear fuel to make
sure that they only create nuclear plants. Sound Familiar? The
Clinton administration did the same exact thing to North Korea, and guess what
happened? North Korea is now sitting on at least 6-7 nuclear warheads.

And the list goes on
and on and on...................
That's my 2 cents. Next Monday, I will
make my case for George W Bush.
D.
Stay the Course Skins Fans: I am not a fair
weather Washington Redskins fan. Yes, we're 1-3, but this thing is going
to turn around. Right now though, I want to talk about one Bill Parcells. I
have been preaching the greatness of Joe Gibbs for the past 8 months
(which I
will continue to do), but Bill Parcells seems to have his number. Parcells
is 12-6 against him all time.
Kryptonite?

Gibbs-Parcells games are and were known for their close results: Parcells's Giants averaged 22.1 points; Gibbs's Redskins
21.4. Parcells -- who won five straight during one stretch
by a total of 18 points -- attributes his upper hand to a
few lucky breaks. "Ninety percent of those games," Parcells
said, "could have been won by either team, really."
Coming back to this
year, Parcells has
had a
year to familiarize himself with his team and see which players are "his type of
players." Let's give JG the same. "But Chris, Parcell's Cowboys
finished 10-6 in his first year." Yeah, Yeah, and I still see the Skins
having a winning season THIS year, we just need to be patient. This isn't
Steve Spurrier we're dealing with here. Gibb's worst month of the NFL
season is September, where he is 38-20. So things will
get better.

To all the Redskins
faithful out there, let me say this. Stay the course. POOR
OFFICIATING cost the Skins the Monday Night Game, and Clinton Portis cost
the Redskins the game against the Browns. But that is in the past.
This man has
been in much worse. He started out 0-5 in his first year coaching, and
people in the papers were calling for his head. Joe Gibbs made
adjustments, and the team finished 8-8, going 8-3 down the stretch. The
next year, the Redskins won their first Super Bowl.

A.
Did you know that there are 100 million registered voters in the U.S. that
didn't vote in the last election? It's embarrassing really. In any
case, Bush-Kerry kick off Round 1 of their debates this Thursday.

I
realize there are some people
(about 100 million)
who could care less, but if you have time, watch at least one of these debates.
After that, read up on the issues and decide for yourself. This may be the
most important election of our lifetime.

Inspirations set to RETURN this week: After a few weeks of
hiatus, Inspirations will be returning to the update schedule this Wednesday.
D.
Giants 20 Redskins 14: 7 Turnovers. When you commit 7
turnovers, you don't deserve to win the game, doesn't matter who you are.
The Washington Redskins gift wrapped this game for the New York Giants.
This will be a game the Skins look back on and kick themselves that they lost.
Couple of things:
Patrick Ramsey:
made some of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen a QB make. He threw 2 INTS that were just
heaved up into the air when there was no reason to. All he had to do
was throw the ball away. You can't win in the NFL with just your arm.

Think I'm wrong?
Just ask Ryan Leaf.
Clinton Portis:
Listen, Portis had decent yardage, caught a TD pass, and had some key blocks,
but his 2 fumbles cost us the game. You can't give the opposition free
plays.
Rod Gardner:
This guy is beginning to remind me of Michael Westbrook (one of the biggest
busts in Redskins history). He shows flashes of greatness, but more often
then not, he drops passes, including one sure TD pass that would have made the
score, 21-20.

For all the gloating
Giants fans out there, just remember this. After you guys recovered 7
turnovers. WAIT. HOLD UP. I don't think you heard me,
7 TURNOVERS
, the Skins STILL had a shot to win the game up
until the last 10 seconds. Yes, you got the win, and that's all
that matters, but looking down the road, it's still early enough in the
season for changes to be made and Joe Gibbs will not allow this garbage football
play to continue.

Redskins Win Big in Their
Season Opener...
A.
Redskins 16 Bucs 10:
Organization. That is the hallmark of a Joe Gibbs coached team. The
team had only 3 penalties in it's FIRST regular season game.
That is incredible considering the team averaged over 10 per game under Steve
"We're Losers" Spurrier.

Clinton Portis. First Handoff. 64 yards to the house. Is
there a new era in Washington? That would be a YES. He finished the
day with 149 yds, and 1 TD.

Defense: 4
sacks. 1 INT. No Offensive TDs allowed. Enough Said.

What really struck me
about this game was the fact that the Redskins didn't fold under pressure.
The Skins fumbled the ball and had it returned for a TD, but they kept fighting.
That is a testament to Joe Gibbs. I can't even tell you the number of
times the Skins have folded down the stretch because of poor coaching the past
few years.

Welcome Back Joe.

A.
Our condolences go out to Sis. Sylvia Washington (DC) and family, on the passing of
her daughter Jackie. In addition, we would like to send condolences to the
family of Bro. Pedro Millan (DC), who was killed in a car accident on his way to
church this past Sunday. His mother, Tarcilla Millan, who was also in

Our new columnist Anne

Looking back on 9/11

Best Line of the Week:
Dick Cheney - Excerpt from this speech to the Republican National Convention,
last week.
"People tell me that Senator Edwards got picked for his good looks, his sex
appeal, and his great hair. I say to them: How do you think I got the job?"
D.
NFL Kickoff 2004:
The Washington Redskins kick off their new season this coming Sunday. With
the biggest payroll in the NFL, and a salary window of about 3 years, the time
for winning is
NOW.

Of course the upside is that we
have enough talent to compete with anybody in the league. Joe Gibbs is
back, enough said there. It should be an interesting season.

Remembrance: Pastor Don Spiers
& CARPOOLING
A.
I have received word from a reliable source asking anyone planning on attending
the funeral to
PLEASE CARPOOL
if at all possible, as parking is limited at Calvary Temple.
Also, the procession
to the internment site is expected to be extremely, extremely long, so please be
prepared.
In addition, there are 2 tolls on the way to the internment site off of Garden
State Parkway, so please be advised.
B.
Before I get into my update, let me make some announcements. The location
of the Testimonial Service has been changed. For directions to that as
well as the Funeral Service,

C.
Our Newest Columnist on Pastor Don: In a preview of the
official release of her column (next Monday),
Anne,
IPF's newest columnist, has written a piece about Pastor Don. You can find
it in
The IndaPhatFarm Post.
D.
Pastor Don:
There are literally
thousands of stories about this great servant of God. From starting
multiple
churches in Argentina (and multiple other places) to literally giving the shirt off his back when
someone
commented that
it was nice, to on and on and on.....It would literally take all day, every day
for several months to list all of it, but let me mention some things.

Whether you liked
Pastor Don or
not, you had to respect him. He gave up a promising career in
Architecture, he gave up his fiance, his family, all because he felt that his
true mission in life was a much higher calling, to serve the Lord. He
devoted himself completely to the work of God, giving 100%. I mean how
many people would give up what he had going for him, to take on such a difficult
task???
His Humility.
He accomplished so much with his life, more than a lot of us combined will ever
do, and yet, when did anyone hear him boast?
Always a gifted speaker,
Pastor Don could have made a big, big name for himself in another church, and
probably become pretty wealthy. But that was not the essence of the man.
He wanted to serve God. He went all over the world, helping to set up
churches, and minister with people in contested areas such as Saudi Arabia and
elsewhere. When I think of a missionary, a Man of God, and a leader, I
will always think of Pastor Don.
He may be gone from
this world, but his real life is just beginning.
I
will have more on his life/ministry a little later.
E.
Congrats
to Simu & Rebecca: I was able to see Anna Susan Thomas this past
weekend and let me tell you, she can look forward to plenty of this.

Confessions of a Redskins Fan.....
A.
Let me explain. Welcome to Washington DC circa 2004, and guess what?
There is something in the air. The whole city can feel it.
We're Back
Baby!
What is this guy talking about you ask? The Washington Redskins of
course. DUH.
Myself, and a couple other
die
hard Skins fans
made it out to Redskins Training Camp in Ashburn, VA, a few weeks ago.

It was hot and humid, but it didn't matter. There were thousands of people
there, who like us, wanted to see the man himself,
Joe Gibbs in action,
and that we did. Check out some pics from that day.

Keep in mind that this man is
63 years old now.
But he was running all over the place, from playing a defensive back, to taking
players to the side and talking to them. It was great to be out there and
watch the Skins actually getting coached by someone who knows what he's doing.

Some Redskins Notes:
Clinton Portis: Even though he hasn't done much in
preseason, I expect CP to get close to 2000 yards this season. NFC East, beware.
LaVar Arrington: The man can hit. At training camp, I saw atleast 2 plays
where LA stuffed Ladell Betts/Rock Cartwright.
Joe Bugel: Man, it was great seeing "Coach Buges" yelling at
the O-Line. Finally someone is going to show them how to protect the QB.
Jeff Bostic: The former Hog/Redskins center was also there
scouting around and sporting one of his Super Bowl rings.
Ramsey & Brunell: These 2 better step up their game.
Ramsey can't blame Steve Spurrier anymore.
Best Line: Speaking of the QB's, Thomas Boswell from the Washington Post had a great
line:
"Washington
should relax. It probably doesn't matter whether Brunnell, with his fat
contract, or Ramsey with his plump one, or even Hasselbeck, with his NFL minimum
wage, ends up in the precious job. If the coach's previous 12-year tenure proved
one thing, it's that Gibbs could field a winning team with Danny DeVito at
quarterback."
"In Joe's offense," said Brunell, grinning, "Danny might be able to move
the ball."
Note: From here till the end of this historic football season,
I'll be including a Redskins piece in all of my updates. Look for them.
B. The
End Has Come:
While we're on sports. I have 2 highlights for you.

1.
The reign of the United States in Olympic basketball is coming to an end.

2.
There is no end in sight for this man though. I've never been a fan of
golf, but I have to admire Vijay Singh's ability to consistently play well, and
win major championships.
For
anyone out there that doesn't think it's a big deal, just ask Tiger Woods.
C.
Cheeseburgers:
Shout out to Benj for his Cheeseburger update. Several of the viewers of
the site went out and bought a big fat juicy burger after reading that update.
I count myself among those people.

2004 BSC
Recap &
185 New Pictures....
Mic Check: For
anyone that doesn't know, Philly defeated DC in the Championship game to secure
it's second straight title.
A.
Shout Outs: Before I get into my recap, I want to take this
time to thank several people for their help with the organization and
implementation of the 2004 Blessan Samuel Classic. First and foremost,
I want to thank God that everyone made it there safely and back again. The
fact this tourney was held in honor of Blessan Samuel and Bro. Phillip Cabillo
Jr. is proof enough that we can't take a single day for granted.
Next up, I want to shout out IPF webmasters,
Vinod Varghese
and
Binu
Varughese.
We spent countless hours over the phone and on paper working out the details for
this thing. Without these two people, this thing would not have gone down.
I
would also like to thank Crystal George, Sheebu Thomas, Susan
Kurikeshu, Blossom Moses, and my Dad, for their tireless effort in
Picture Taking/Editing. In addition, I want to thank
Sam
John,
Eber
Rosario,
Vinod Varghese,
Ben Harris,
John Phillip,
Juby Varghese,
Justin Thomas
and
Jessu Abraham
for running the scoreboards and refereeing the games. On the local level
(DC), I want to thank
Soumini John
for keeping the DC sidelines stocked with water/power-ups. Also, I want to
shout out
Phillip Mark
for making repeated trips to the mall to ensure that everyone on our roster had
a DCZ Fitness T-shirt.
Last, but not least,
I want to thank all of the players and spectators (loyal DC fans) that
made the effort and came out, as well as anyone I missed. You are
appreciated. Our Tournaments are not without glitches, but they are
improving every year. Let's keep this thing rolling......
B.
Tourney Pictures: All, Batches 1, 2, and 3 have been
released. Enjoy.
Please note that we are still working on the captions....
C.
Philly Ballazz:
They have made a statement. Philly has served notice that any and all
attempts at a title will have to go through the home of the 76ers.
Philly went undefeated through the regular and post-seasons by blowing out
almost everyone they played. Don't get be wrong, Philly is beatable, but
only through practicing hard and consistently. That is the secret to their
success.
D. Honorable Mention:
Goes out to
Brooklyn and
Yonkers.
Brooklyn proved that they could compete back in 2002, but as of 2004, they are
now in the top 3 churches bracket. Yonkers, led by Silby Phillip (who hit
a game winner in overtime against Strong Island), also gave almost every team
they played a run for their money, and made the playoffs for the first time.
All in all, Newark played pretty respectably, beating Strong Island, and giving
a couple of teams a run for their money.
E. Game Summaries:
The official game highlights from the regular season leading up to the
championship, are being worked on now. I will post a link on the board the
moment they are done. In the meantime, here are the final team records
(including playoffs).
1.
Philly: (7-0)
- went undefeated.
2. DC: (4-3)
- lost to Philly in the Championship.
3. Brooklyn: (3-3)
- lost to DC in the first Round.
4. Yonkers: (2-4)
- lost to Philly in the first Round.
5. Newark: (1-4)
- eliminated
6. Strong Island: (1-4)
- eliminated
F. Awards:
My awards are as follows:
Most Improved Team:
Brooklyn.
Honorable Mention:
Yonkers.
Most Memorable
Moment:
Silby (YO) hit the game winner in
OT to beat
Strong
Island.
Best Jersey's: Newark.
Best Players: The Chacko Brothers from
Philly (Binu &
Blessan).
Team that fell the furthest:
Strong Island.
(one positive that they can take out of this is that they will be the most
motivated next year.)
G.

The 2004 BSC - Here We Go...
A.
'Ask Lakshmi Aunty':
Have you ever wanted to ask an Aunty a question, but never quite knew
how? Well your wait has ended. This BRAND NEW culture based column at IPF
is geared directly toward that purpose. Before I go any further, let me
say that this column isn't a joke of any kind.
Lakshmi Matthew,
(wife and mother of 2), has signed on as
our newest columnist. She will be writing culture based columns on her
homeland of India, and how it has affected her life now that she lives in the
U.S.
Lakshmi
is an extremely outgoing person that is very opinionated on a whole slew of
issues. She has written up a pretty thorough intro, so I will save it for
you there.
Please
feel free to submit questions/comments to Lakshmi, and she will do her best to
answer them in her upcoming updates as well as through the boards. In addition, Lakshmi hopes to keep her column
updated on a WEEKLY basis, so check in often.

2004 BSC - Final Preparations:
All right everyone, we're at the final countdown. This time next week, we
will know who backed up all the smack. There will be one winner, and 5
also rans. Who will they be..... No but seriously, it should be a
good time.
The
location is set. The official refs have been secured for the playoffs and
will arrive at 4 pm. Which reminds me, Everyone,
GET TO THE GYM
BY 9:30 AM
The
earlier we start the better off we'll be b/c we only have the gym from
9-7. Believe me, time is going to fly by. It's better we're there
early than late. So please plan accordingly.
Know
what time you need to leave in order to reach the gym before 10 am.
As
a way of enforcing this rule, the games that you miss b/c of lateness will move
directly into your loss column. If we had the gym all day, things could of
been different, but we don't. We will do our best to wait till every team
arrives, but if you show up at 12 noon, don't expect much. It is not going
to go down like
2002
when everyone strolled in whenever.......
Hold Back the Ruckus: All, I know bball can get heated. I
know people have been talking smack. But remember this thing is to promote
unity, not fill up the
ER
at Shady Grove Hospital.
Directions: If anyone needs last minute directions, do not hesitate
to
CALL
ME. In
the mean time, all the pertinent info has been posted in the Tourney 2004
section.
Refreshments: All teams should bring their own
refreshments/coolers/snacks. Our original plan was to provide these items,
but when Houston and Chicago backed out, money became extremely tight.
But FYI: There will be vending machines/water fountains at the gym.
Spectators: To all the fans who would like to come out and
support your team, or just watch some intense basketball, remember there is no
cover charge and plenty of seating. So come on out.
Again all the info you need is located in the Tourney 2004 section...

Convention 2004
Recap & The
IPF SportsCenter
A.
Convention Pics: Sup all, I'm back
from Lynchburg, VA. Before I get into my full recap, we
are going to release our first batch of pics either tonight or
at the latest tomorrow via Brenda's update. Also,
FYI: Over the next 2 weeks, we will have more pics
floating in, so keep it locked.
B.
Convention Recap: Ok, I'm not going to
sugar coat it. I think the new place was average at best. If you
came to convention with no expectations, or if this was your first time, then
you would have liked Lynchburg b/c you had nothing to compare it to. (Let
me stop here and say that I do think we should be grateful that we even have a
place to meet, which I am.) But other than the A/C in the dorms and the
additional
space............................................................................
Messages:
There was nothing wrong with the messages per say, as is the case most of the
time in life. Basically if you wanted to listen you got something out of
them. But if you were tuned out, which I was at times, then you
didn't. Simple as that.
Food
wise: Well......me and some other people were em.....fasting...cough.
Where
is Everyone??: I know it wasn't just me. It was so hard
trying to find people at convention. I saw some people for the first time
5 minutes before I left on Sunday. I think b/c there are so many EXITS
from the stadium, people would just roll out, never to be seen again until the
next meeting, if at all.
Special
Moments: I thought the group from Guadalupe sang really well on
Friday. Also,
anyone who saw what Pastor Don went through just to deliver a sermon left the
stadium inspired.
IPF
Thanks You: On behalf of the webmasters/columnists from this
website that attended convention, I would like to thank those of you who
approached us with words of appreciation and/or positive comments. We will
not forget.
In
conclusion, perhaps I was too harsh. Maybe we need to cut the university
some slack since it was the first time around with us. I'm sure the first
year at Ashland wasn't smooth. In any case, there you have it.
C.
'Ask Lakshmi Aunty': We are moving the
release of this new column to next Monday, July 19th in order
to give it it's due air time.
D.
The IPF
SportsCenter:
A new forum has been added to the Message Boards, that is
for general sports talk. So whether you are a die hard football, baseball
or karums fan, make sure you bring it.
E.
Tourney 2004: Last but not least, we are under 2 weeks and
counting till the 2004 BSC. I managed to speak with some
of you at convention, but if anyone I didn't speak to has any
kind of question, please post them on the message board.
We
do not want any issues on July 24th. So let's be clear on
everything BEFOREHAND.

Coming.... & Convention 2004

group will touch on a variety of topics, varying from culture
based musings to weight loss management.

do.
B.
Tourney 2004: So again, the rules and
regulations have been posted, the schedule has been posted, etc,
etc. All other pertinent info has been posted online for you to
view at your convenience. On
July 24th, there shouldn't be
anyone who doesn't know what's going on.
Which
reminds me. All teams, PLEASE finalize
your rosters.
Also,
on July 24th, all players will have to sign a waiver form in
order to play. You cannot play in the 2004 BSC without signing off
on this form.
For
additional info on the tourney, including the new security force, please scroll
down to Vinod's update.
C.

varying content, is that of an online magazine. Hope that
helps.

The Best
BBQ Sauce
A.
Hey all. The following concoction is for those of us who don't go out
into the hills to round up some molasses, spices, and sugar. SO,
with the summer BBQ season in full swing, I thought it was high time to share
with you, Lao's special sauce.
Its
really easy. Watch this:

#1
is KC Masterpiece BBQ
sauce:
This is hands down, the best "by
itself" sauce on the market.
#2
SRIRACHA HOT chili
sauce: The best hot chili sauce on the
market.
So
what do you do?.........................
MIX THEM
TOGETHER
"Thanks
Chris, I didn't know that." ;) Use
more Masterpiece
sauce than Sriracha, but you can work it out on your own.
I am telling
you, this is it. Try it out.
B.
Tourney 2004 Update: The Official
Rules/Regulations & The Official Schedule for the upcoming Tourney will be
released next
Monday, June 28th,
which should be ample time to familiarize yourselves.
C.
Past Updates in Archives: Just a reminder to everyone that
we are archiving the updates to the main page on a weekly basis. You can find every update dating back to 2001 in the
Archives
section, under

New
Wedding Pictures: Wesley
& Elizabeth Samuel
A.
Sup all. I've got new pics for
you from the wedding of Wesley & Elizabeth Samuel (Dallas), courtesy of one Susan
Samuel. Congrats go out to the Bride and Groom.

B.
"Reagan: In Conclusion": I've
written a follow up piece to my RR tribute from last week.
In it, I write about passing through the Capitol Rotunda and
viewing the casket.
You
can find it in The IndaPhatFarm Post
C.
Remembrance: Ronald Reagan: We've created a new section in
Remembrance honoring the 40th President. Replete with 55 pictures, 19
Media Clips, & several memorable quotes.
I will be adding more content to this section as it comes in, so stay tuned for that.

D.
Elijiah T. Abraham: I have a pic for you of the newest Mets
fan courtesy of Vinod V.
(Abhilash
& Erica's son)

E.
Pistons Go Up 3-1: It looks like the Bad Boys are
back. Who would of thought that the all-star equipped LA Lakers would be
in this big a hole? Defense, Defense, Defense, that's all I have to
say. LA's dynasty should officially come to an end on Tuesday night,
followed by the departure of one Kobe Bryant.
No
NBA team down 3-1 in the Finals, has ever come back to win the championship.

What is
Greatness? - A
Tribute to Ronald Reagan
A.
Is it fame? Money? Power? A lot has been said, and will be
said, about Ronald Reagan over the course of this week, about his
greatness. Personally I have always felt that great men make a difference
in the world around them. Whose name will be remembered in 100 years? Bill Gates
or Ronald Reagan?

RR's
life affected me b/c of the following:
#1
- He made me believe that anything is possible. This man's optimism, wit,
charm, faith, leadership, hard work, are an example to every human being.
Also, the man made the words character and principle, actually mean something to
me. Have faith in God, do good for your country, and don't be narrow
minded.
RR
was one of those leaders that appears once every generation, at the exact time
when they were needed most. I would go as far as to say that he was the
greatest President of the last 50 years, and that goes up to the present
day. I'd rank him #4 on the all time list, after
Lincoln, Washington, and FDR.
Now,
let's go a little bit more in depth.
|
"I have left orders to
be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I'm in a cabinet
meeting.." - RR
|
B.
An American Story: If ever there was a story of the
"American Dream", Ronald
Reagan's life should be on the front page. Lifeguard,
Sports Broadcaster, Actor, Father, Corporate Spokesperson, Governor, and
President.

Before
RR was elected, the United States was involved in the "Carter Years",
and I don't say that affectionately. Inflation, mortgage rates and gas
prices were all sky rocketing. Scores of Americans were still being held
hostage in Iran after more than 1 year of Jimmy Carter's
ineptitude. In essence, the nation had lost its sense of identity.
Americans were not being told how to fix their problems, they
were being told they were to blame for their problems. The
time was ripe, for a new leader.
|
"Politics is not a bad
profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you
can always write a book.." - RR
|
C.
Underestimating Reagan: The political landscape of Reagan's
political career is littered with people who didn't take him seriously.
Those people soon found themselves unemployed.
Who would have thought that this so called "dumb actor" from a little
town, would be twice elected Governor of California, the nation's biggest state,
let alone twice elected President. Here's a case in point: when the incumbent Governor of California
learned that RR would be his opponent, he was thrilled, it would be a piece of
cake against this Hollywood B actor with no political experience. RR won
by 1 million votes.
|
"Abortion is advocated
only by persons who have themselves been born." - RR
|
How
did he do it? Well, take a look at some of the quotes below:
D.
Quotable Quotes: Aside from the end of the Cold War, RR may
well be remembered for the innumerable one liners of his career.
"Honey, I forgot to duck" and "I hope you're all Republicans"
among them. He seemed to have this uncanny ability to mix
self deprecating humor and
charm against all of his opponents, which endeared
him to the nation.

|
"How do you tell a
Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an
anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin." - RR
|
E.
His Faith: RR's father, Jack, was an alcoholic, and Reagan
resented his father for having that weakness. He felt his father should
of been strong enough to conquer it. In any case, this weakness in his
father drew him toward his mother, Nelle, a devout Disciples of Christ
believer. Reagan began attending sunday school and church with his mother
from a very young age, later commenting that the spiritual foundations of his
life were solidified during those early years.
|
"You can tell a lot
about a fellow's character by his way of eating jellybeans." - RR
|
F.
The Reagan Revolution: RR saved the Republican party, it's
that simple. Every presidency since the Eisenhower administration had
ended in failure. Kennedy was assassinated, Johnson was doomed by
Vietnam, Nixon resigned over Watergate, Ford didn't seem to get much done,
Carter seemed to define ineptitude. Then along came Reagan. The
eternal optimist, who believed that the country's greatest days were ahead.
|
"Recession is
when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And
recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his." - RR
|
G.
Absolutely NO Pity: RR wouldn't have wanted our pity over his
death. He lived a long, full, and varied life, and truly made a
difference. Even though his death brings finality, he's really been gone for
several years now due to his Alzheimer's disease. So, for his sake, and
for Nancy's, the suffering has finally ended.
|
"I
am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.."
- RR
|
H.
"A Shining City on a Hill" : Reagan was often
quoted as saying that he felt America was a shining city on a hill. A
beacon from which the rest of the world looked to for freedom's banner.
Some people dismissed this as rhetorical nonsense, but he really believed that
leadership was the job of this country, and the president should be at the head
of that fight.

|
"Surround
yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don't
interfere as long as the policy you've decided upon is being carried out."
- RR
|
I.
Legacy: RR ended the Cold War, it's that simple. Now
would it have ended at some point in the future? The answer is yes.
But would it have ended as soon as it did without his efforts, or as peacefully
as it did? The answer is NO. He is the first President to live
up to FDR's stature. It'll be interesting to see who will live up to
Reagan's. It hasn't happened yet.
|
"Republicans
believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is
April 15." - RR
|
J.
He Made It: When I learned that RR was diagnosed with Alzheimers, a
disease which robs the mind, resulting in permanent memory loss, and the
inability to function normally, it really brought home the fact that even the
greatest men, have an appointed time to die, and that nothing can keep them
from that date. But there is the satisfaction of knowing that RR made
it. He was a believer.
There
is so much more to say, but I'm going to leave you with this true story:
At
Christmas in 1995, a visitor brought Reagan a special gift, a porcelain replica
of the White House to place in his fish tank at his office in Los Angeles.
Reagan seemed bewildered as he look at this gift. "I must take it
home," Reagan said. "I have to show Nancy because I know I had
some relationship to this place. I just can't remember what is was."

The Rock
River Flows for You Tonight Mr. President
A.
Those words
were spoke to Ronald Reagan by an radio broadcaster from his hometown the night
he got elected President. Poignant words that I thought I'd repeat.

It's
not by accident that he was the first person I put on my picture slice.
I
will have a full in-depth update for you on Monday about this great man.

The Greatest Generation: Finally, with today being
Memorial Day, I want to take this time to remember the WW2 generation
that affected the world like no generation of the past
century.

Without sounding trite, they were young men and women, who took it upon
themselves to fight the purest form of evil, oppression.
If the allies had not won WW2, we wouldn't be sitting here
today, it's that simple. It's important that we never
forget them, they truly are, "The Greatest
Generation."

Fee: June 1st is coming up on us fast, and I haven't received fees from anyone yet.

We
don't have a tourney if these fees don't come in by then.
Keep in mind, that someone who has a job, can spot up the 200,
and everyone can pay that person back, b/c i know firsthand it
can take several weeks to collect the fees from every individual
player.
B.
The site will be updated this Saturday. We are slowly moving toward a 6

in for that.

TOURNEY
2004: UPDATED INFO:
PLEASE READ!
A.
Before I
get
into my tourney update, I want to say we are all glad to know that Jessy J's
parents are all right. Miracles do happen.
B.
Tourney 2004: All right, here's the deal. The 2004 Blessan Samuel Classic Date,
Location, and overall fee have changed. Before I get into the specifics,
I'm sure the foremost question on your mind is: "Why the switch from Philly?"
Well, simply put, the gym in Philly couldn't handle the 100+ people
expected for this event. That is the main reason.
C.
New Date: Now, the date of June 5th was simply not available
in a location that fit our needs. So it has been changed to:
July
24, 2004
This
date is a couple weeks after convention, AND it avoids any fasting &
prayer/communion problems that June 5th would have had, thereby depleting the
ranks of atleast 2 confirmed teams, and probably more.
I
now want to take this time to reassure those of you out there who are thinking,
"A Date Change?? Will there be more Date Changes???" The
definite answer is NO. This date is set, and to prove it, I dropped off
the deposit for this place, yesterday afternoon.
Make plans to take off from
work and do what you have to do, b/c July 24th is the date.
D.
New Fee: The fee is now confirmed at:
$200 per team
In
order to cover the cost of the gym rental, refs, trophy, and liquids, this price
is the only way all these needs will be met. The previous $100 fee was
tentative at best, and it would have risen come tournament time.
E.
New Location: The location of the tourney will be in:
Gaithersburg,
MD
at
the Bohrer activity center. Many of you may know this place as the
facility where the Indo-Pak Tourney was held in, back in April 2004. It is
also right across from Gaithersburg High School.
I
went to visit the center on Saturday:
Click
to Enlarge:

This
facility is a fairly new one, and the gym itself is in great condition. It is a big, big improvement over the one in Brooklyn, back in
2002.
F.
Travel Time: In terms of travel time, we realize that this
is a drive for all teams involved, which is why we will push forward the
starting time of the tourney to something more manageable than something in the
very early am.
Please keep in mind that
Houston, the
team that is spending the most $$$ out of any team, is still coming out.
So, let's make the sacrifice, and do this.
G.
In Closing: There is one all important date that you need
to keep in mind:
FEES DUE:
BEFORE June 1st
There are no if, ands, or buts about this. If we don't deliver the total fee by June 1st,
there will be no gym, and no tourney, its as simple as that. So what this
means is, you need to get me the funds
So
PLEASE collect these funds and mail me a check.
E-mail
me for my mailing address: chunglao@hotmail.com
The
2004 Blessan Samuel Classic is now completely official.

Remembrance:
Pastor Gary Dant
A.
Pastor Gary was a minister for the young people. I don't think I ever
heard one of his messages that didn't mention the young people at some
point. This was one of his callings, and we will not forget. Yesterday, Pastor Gary passed
away in Papua New Guinea. He is survived by his wife, Sister Carolyn,
and children, Sandy, Andrew, Sister Cathy, and Billy.
Remembrance:
I have 4 Media clips for you of Pastor Gary. This message that he gave a
couple of decades ago is still very relevant today. Please be advised that
this footage is over 20 years old, and will be somewhat grainy at times.

Also,
Tourney 2004

This section is the official home for all upcoming tourneys.
B.
NFL DRAFT 2004: I am pretty pleased with the selections the Redskins
made. Safety Sean Taylor will ensure that the all new Skinz welcoming committee
with have a little something, something, against
the likes of Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, and Jeremy Shockey.
Eli
Manning. I don't think he will surpass Peyton, but he comes from too great
a bloodline to be a bust ala Ryan Leaf.
C.
March on Washington: On a MUCH
MORE IMPORTANT NOTE,
The so called Pro-Choice movement staged a rally on Washington yesterday, an
estimated 300,000 people attended.

It
is sad to watch an entire generation of women being fooled by the propaganda of
the women's liberation/rights movements, and think that their so called right to
choose, gives them the right to take a life.

Perhaps
we have too much freedom in this country.

BRAND
NEW IPF MESSAGE BOARD(S)
A.
Sup all. As
you can see, the
new message boards
are up. I realize that its going
to take a little getting used to after 3
+
years of the old board,
but look at it this way. IT is high time that we have a
board worthy of the IPF audience. Besides, the next four
words are all I need to say:
NO
MORE POP UPS
That
in itself is worth it. Also, its easier now to see
replies/threads. You can send messages to other users,
upload a pic of yourself, create a poll, bring your car in for
an oil change, and a lot more.
Be
sure to keep this in mind:
REGISTRATION
IS NOT A REQUIREMENT,
but feel free to do so.
Couple
of things:
As
I'm sure you've noticed by now, there are 2 separate
boards. This will allow for more organization. The
Boards are:
The
IndaPhatFarm Message Board: This is the main message
board, replacing the bravenet forum. Please read over
"The Law of the Land."
The
2004 Blessan Samuel Classic: This forum is your one stop
shop for all Tourney smack, player profiles, rankings, and what
else is on your mind about the upcoming tourney. Players
from all churches are welcome.
FORUM
POLICY: Everyone, listen. The forum is not a
free for all. You know exactly where the line needs to be drawn.
Keep that in mind.
B.
And so, the time has come to officially bury the bravenet forum with full military honors. Shall we all
stand. A moment of silence please.

And
now, the 10 gun salute.

Ok,
the 16 gun salute. :)
Enjoy
this new board all.
C.
Programming Note: An ALL-NEW
NBA section
is in the works to cover the NBA season as it winds down, as well as the road to
the championship. More on this later.
Also,
The NFL Rundown
and the Old Message Board have been moved into Archives.

have learned a couple of things recently. The first is that the
U.S. will not cower before a terror attack. Bin Laden
misjudged that one on 9/11, foolishly believing that he could
move American public policy in his direction by shell-shocking
the American public. He was hoping for classic isolationism in
response to the casualties of that awful day. Wrong.
In fact, the opposite happened - a huge miscalculation on al
Qaeda's part, which led to the destruction of their client
state, Afghanistan, the removal of a de facto anti-American
ally, Saddam, and, even worse from their point of view, the
possibility of constitutional democracies in two Islamic lands,
Afghanistan and Iraq. The Anglo-American counter-attack also
took Libya out of the WMD equation, and sent reverberations of
democratic unrest into Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia."

Well
said.

Al
Qaeda's Big Victory....
A.
The voting in of the Socialist party in Spain should be giving everyone outside
that country a message. The
terrorists are fighting back.
Do you think it was a coincidence that more than 200 people were killed, and
over 1,500 injured, in a Madrid train bombing, just DAYS before the election?
The
terrorists are going geo-political, and using scare tactics to boot. They
are saying, if you target us, we are going to target you, and we're going to
make you pay for it. They bombed that train b/c they knew how precarious of a
position, Jose Maria Aznar (now the former prime minister of Spain) was in. Aznar
supported President Bush. He sent troops to Iraq, when
most of his country opposed it. But let's even forget the war for a
moment, DID
YOU KNOW
that Aznar cut his country's unemployment rate in half? Did you know that
Spain is now experiencing an economic boom unrivaled in recent history?
But who cares?
He was
a threat, and the terrorists knew how to manipulate events. They
knew how close the socialists were to winning the election, and if Al Qaeda
could push the socialists forward, and take 200+ infidels with them, then so be
it. In doing this, what has Al Qaeda accomplished you ask?
"They
have removed a government bent on fighting terrorism, and replaced it with
one bent on appeasing it." - Andrew Sullivan
B.
The Stomach Flu: You know, there's nothing like the 'ol stomach flu to put things into
perspective food wise. After 3 days of not being able to eat much of
anything, you WILL EAT ANYTHING. So, what am I looking forward
to? Ketchup Chips.
I had given up on chips completely for a while,
they just weren't doing it for me, but these chips, these chips changed the
whole game for me. Go give them a shot.

C.
Maryland
Terrapins: 2004 ACC Tourney Champs:
It always has to be Duke, right? We always have to be held on the seat of
our pants by the Blue Devils........You know, just a few weeks ago, Maryland was
on the NCAA tournament bubble. Most sports writers had written us
off. The team was too young, didn't have the fire, and on and on AND ON it
went. Well, a 95-87
win over Duke, in overtime, is about as good as it gets.

For
the first time in 20 YEARS, the Maryland Terrapins are champs of the toughest
division in college basketball, despite a 5-9 ACC record, just two weeks
ago. Tournament MVP John
Gilchrist stepped
up his game at the guard position and helped MD to this big, big triumph.

'Passion'
Review (Spoilers)
A.
Everyone, the site may go down for a little while today as we are working on
getting the Pictures section back up. Hang with us.
B.
The Passion of
the Christ: My
hat goes off to Mel Gibson for making this movie. He has taken a lot of
flak in Hollywood, and may even get black listed for making this film, but you
know what? Mel doesn't need their approval anyway. He's already done everything he could
have done on the big
screen. He's had more hit movies than I can remember, AND he's got an Academy
Award. Enough said, let's go straight to the film:
There
were no previews at the beginning of this movie, which I thought was a great
touch. This isn't Hulk or Spider Man here, The Passion is more of an
experience film, not a blockbuster, popcorn, summer time date movie.
Here
are some scenes
that stand out in my mind:
1)
He walked among us: The scene when Jesus is making the
wooden table, and sharing a light moment with Mary. I thought that was a
really, really nice touch, it just hits home on how Jesus walked among us, and
from age 12-33, lived life.
2)
The Torment of Judas: When Judas was sitting at the bottom
of the bridge, and that demon flashed by his face, it almost looked like an orc
from LOTR, but it was a lot more hideous. Scary to think about....
Also,
when those two kids were laughing at him after the high priests rejected his
money, that was nuts. The faces of those kids morphed into demons that
taunted and laughed at him. You could really sense the torment in the eyes
of Judas.
3)
Brutality: This movie is so brutal. From Jesus falling
over the side of the bridge bound in chains, to the hooks of the whip getting
stuck in his back, to Mary mopping up his blood, to the piercing of his side,
and the blood/water flowing out, just to name a few.
4)
The Right of Vengeance: I don't think there was a single
person in the theater who didn't want to jump on screen, and at least get a hit
or two in on Caiphas, and those soldiers who were beating Jesus.
That's
our human nature, and in reality, the very man who was being beaten said:
"Father,
forgive them, for they know not what they do."
Those
may be the most compelling words in human history. How can you hate
someone that turns their cheek to you in love?
5)
The Cons: One
thing I didn't like about the film was the fact that there wasn't more footage
of the resurrection of Christ. That is the center piece of Christianity,
the fact that he didn't die, but rose again. But IT WAS shown at the
end, albeit in a small part.
All in
all, this movie has done a lot more good than bad. You cannot walk out of
this movie, and not be affected by it. You just can't.
It will put you in awe of what Jesus did, and that is a good thing.

IndaPhatFarm:
Back in Action
A.
Welcome back everyone. Thank you for your patience. I know that a
few hours ended up turning into a few days, but this move was very, very
necessary.
We
now have a 99.9% guarantee for no more down time. :)
NOTE:
The
Pictures section is being re-organized, so please bear with us.
B.
Tourney 2004 Update: Attention all team heads/players,
Vinod
will be updating this weekend with a lot of details/info for you, so BE
SURE to check that out.
C.
Passion WINS BIG at the Box Office: Raking in $76.2 million from
Friday to Sunday, and a $117.5 million haul from Wednesday to Sunday.
Let's put those numbers into perspective. The
LOTR: Return of the King
pulled in
$72.7 million over its 3 day initial release. Those are big, blockbuster
numbers, not some independent film chump change.
I
have yet to see this movie, but everyone that has seen it
appears to have been deeply affected by.
For
a case in point, "kuttans"
has submitted a review:
------------------------------------------
I saw the move
"The Passion of The
Christ" and it has changed my life. All my life I had just read the gospel
accounts over and over again, but this movie brought life to those passages.
At
first I was angry at the blood thirsty high priests, then I turned the light
onto my own life. It was for my sins and healing that he went through those
scourgings, lashes, humiliation and torture. He took my penalty upon Himself.
How dare I sin against him and grieve him anymore? I pray that God gives each
one of us grace to say NO to sin, considering the price that our LOVER and
SAVIOR had to pay. Do we want to nail him to the cross again with our sins?
P.S.
I think every believer should watch this movie. It is life changing, probably
better than a thousand sermons on the same subject. Kudos to Mel Gibson.
------------------------------------------
D.
Ebert & Lao: Speaking of great films,
LOTR: Return of the King
took home 11 Academy Awards last night including Best Picture, Best Original
Score, and Best Director,
Peter Jackson.
The amount of time and effort that Peter Jackson put into these
films
is just incredible, and it shows in every frame.

Winning
11 Oscars is a fitting end to one of the greatest on-screen
epics of all time.
More
Later Everybody. Welcome Home.

A.
12 pictures from Abhilash & Erica's wedding have been posted.

Thanks
for being patient with these all. I would like to specifically
shout out Vinod Varghese as well as Sam George of
SGPhotography, for these
pictures. If
anyone out there is in the market for a wedding photographer,
Sam
George is your
man.
B.
DesiDestiny.com: This newly christened matrimonial
website founded by Justin Mathews, Mike O'Malley, David Stein, and Ann (Soy) George, is now online.
Signing up is extremely easy. It is definitely worth a look.
C.
Bro.

D.
Detroit Revivals: Please note that the very first revivals meetings in
Detroit will take place from
April
16-18.
Shout out to Abey Kurikesu for the info.
E.
Patrick
Ramsey: In some offseason Redskins
news, our young QB, Patrick Ramsey, is raising a stink over the fact that we've
just signed Mark Brunell to a big, big contract. Apparently, Ramsey wants
to be traded.
Patrick,
Patrick, Patrick.........
If
you value your career, you need to stuff that pride and just realize who your
playing for. This isn't Barney Fife running the plays here bro, this is Joe
"3 Super Bowls" Gibbs. You're a young guy that still needs
to improve, and a year or two learning from Brunell and Coach Gibbs is going to
make you unstoppable come you're own starting time.
Joe
Gibbs has taken 3 different quarterbacks to 3 Super Bowls, and won them
all. No other coach in NFL history has been able to do that. Pat,
you think he can't do that for you too? Think about it....
F.
The
Passion Of The Christ: The #
of theaters has been expanded
from 2,000 to 2,800. We're not talking about "Left Behind: The Movie"
here. This is a major, major, Hollywood release. It's impressive b/c
a major film will usually see a release in 2,500 theaters. So I hope it
does well, and rakes in the $$$$. Although knowing Hollywood, they'll
probably want a sequel.

Passing
of Bro. Daniel Ariaratnam
A.
At 12:30 pm today, Bro. Daniel Ariaratnam (Baltimore, MD) went to be with the Lord.
I remember Bro. Daniel as being heavily involved in the Sunday School and he played a major role in many young lives as the superintendent of
this ministry in Baltimore. He is survived by
his wife, Sister Anna, and two children, Deryl and Fiona.
Susy
Iype writes: Uncle was truly a faithful believer and I'm sure many of the young people in the Baltimore assembly will agree with me, that his devotion to the Sunday School was unsurpassable.
His life had an impact on many. I will miss his thoughtfulness, the long
talks we had, his enthusiasm and strength. Uncle will be sorely missed.
Our
thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to the family.

Paul Moses & Super Bowl Recap
A.
Ok, before I get into the details, check out these pics:

Haha.
I want everyone to know that these pictures have been posted with the full
approval of Paul AND more importantly, Blossom Moses. These pics
were actually taken after YAR 2004, and are meant to showcase
Paul's.......err.....talents. (I wish you could of seen
the looks on the faces of people walking by us).
NOW, let us know what you think of this little adventure, as we are
willing to come up with a sequel. That is of course, pending approval from
one Blossom Moses.
B. Super
Bowl 38: A Game for the Ages: This game was akin to 2 heavy
weight boxers, cagy and skilled, knocking the daylights out of each other, until
finally,
the more experienced man, (The Patriots), delivered the knock out blow via one
Adam Vinatierri, 32-29. It was one of the best Bowl's, I've ever seen.
(Cough.
Who predicted a high scoring game? Cough.)
Tom
Brady has now won 2 Super Bowls, has 2 Super Bowl MVP titles, and is only
26. All he does is win games. You can't ask for anything else.
I
have to tip
my hat to the Panthers.
Every time I thought the Patriots were about to put the game away, the Panthers
fought back. They just came up a little short in the end. Stephen
Davis is at
the top of the "good running backs" list, but he isn't great, and I
think the Patriots showcased that. Speaking of running backs, I was in
complete agreement with IPF
Columnist Jon Flores
before the Super Bowl, about Antwoin Smith being overrated. Well, when it
was money time, Smith delivered, and now he has the hardware to back it up.

Dynasty?
I really thought that word was dead in the NFL. But I have to say that the Patriots have done what only John Elway
was able to do, and that is win
multiple Super Bowls
in the era of free agency and the salary cap. Bill Bellichek eats
offensive coordinators for lunch, and is the best coach in the NFL right
now.........That is until September of course.
C.
Best Super Bowl Commercial: I would have to say the one at
the very beginning of the game, with the groom and groomsmen watching the game
in the closet, having a good time when the bride to be busts in. You
think she's
going to let them all have it, but she walks in and asks about the game.
One of the groomsmen almost cried at the sight. I thought that was classic.
D.
A
Closing Super Bowl Snippet: A CBS official has been quoted as
saying that MTV will be hard pressed to produce another Super Bowl half time
show, after the incident with Janet Jackson. Ya think? Oh, and Mr. Timberlake? Stop fronting like you didn't do it
man...don't
be so quick to, walk away..

BLOOD
is Thicker than C.R.E.A.M.
A.
Vinod has released his newest piece entitled, Blood is Thicker than
CREAM.
Here is an excerpt:
"The two young children,
one boy and his sister were
painstakingly plucking grass from their perfectly manicured lawn,
which was studiously tended to by local laborers.
From where they stood, to every corner of the property
the grass boasted of one perfect shade of green.
The green shade was made possible from the green of their dad’s wallet. He
did well for himself, he had enough.
The entire property screamed wealth, as it was
a ½ an
acre of land located in an upscale neighborhood in
Hyattsville, Maryland. They
had enough room to roam free; in fact the size of the property
went against their parent’s argument to getting a dog
because of limitations in space.
They had all the space they needed for the
Ogo to roam
free and enough room for him to dig monstrous holes in the
grass, especially near where the parents seem to plant flowers
they bought from Home Depot.
Benny decides to chase
Smitha until he reaches the
desired effect, vomiting.
He laughs while she vomits......"

Campaign 2004:
You know, I have to say that while most of the Democratic field
is blah, John Edwards really comes across as a decent man. He gives off an
almost (notice I said almost) Robert Kennedyesk vibe, while people like Dick
Gephardt are stuck in vanilla land.
C.
Championship(s) Recap: Well Peyton Manning got a rude awakening yesterday
as he was introduced full force to the idea that DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Philly?
Philly? Eagles? I checked my messages last night, and I didn't have
one from a certain person who's been leaving Go Philly comments. Well its
all good, you guys made it farther than the Skins, so hats off. Its too
bad your franchise has never won the big one though. :)
The
Patriots have delivered all season long, and as much as I want the Panthers to
win, you can't argue with the Patriots record and tenacity - they will win Super
Bowl 38. Also,
this is hard for me to
write, but I have to give
credit where credit is due. Stephen Davis, in the very next season after
leaving the Redskins, is in the Super Bowl. He got the last laugh.

Remembrance: Bro.
Phillip Cabillo
Jr.
A.
You know, its hard to believe that it's been one year since Bro. Phillip lpassed,
but on January 17, 2003, he went to be with the Lord.
His
life and testimony blessed countless people.
We
have not forgotten.
B.
Pat Cabrera (Phillip's cousin) has written
a piece in memory of this special person:
-----------------------------------------------------
Tomorrow it is going to be a year since my cousin died. When Phillip died my
life completely changed, and it hasn't been and I don't think will ever be the
same. Almost every night since he died I can't sleep because I am either crying
or thinking about when I found out he passed away or his funeral and how it hurt
so much to see my strong, loving cousin dead. Another thing that made me really
sad was seeing my uncle and my aunt. I knew that they were going through a lot
of pain and it hurt me so much to see them. There were times I couldn't bear
looking at them. But I know that they were comforted knowing that Phillip was in
heaven.
Now I am going to write about when I found about my cousin's death. That night
my life was going on normally, around that time I was in between studying for a
test and playing UNO with my little sister. But one thing I remember is that
around 10 p.m. I felt something cold go through my body and I felt weird. I
think I told my sister that I had gotten a brain freeze, but I really didn't
think about it. Also that night my Grandma was returning from El Salvador
and my mom and my aunt were going to go pick her up. Well, I somehow ended up
going to sleep before my mom came back from the airport, and I remember around
4:00 a.m. my mom woke me up telling me something had happened to Phillip. I
cannot even explain what went through my head at that moment, I remember seeing
my sister (Maggie) pale and I just was asking over and over what had happened.
When my mom told me he had died I was in total shock, because come on, one day
your life is normal and then the next day you are being told that one of the
most special people in your life is dead. Well, from then on nothing could
comfort me and no matter how many people told me it was okay, I couldn't stop
crying. I didn't really want to go to school the next day, but Maggie told me
and my sisters that Phillip wouldn't want us stay home, he would want us to go
on with life. I really admired the strength my sister had. So we all went to
school.

Phillip Cabillo is the greatest person I
have ever met. He was always happy and if he thought he offended anyone he was
always quick to apologize. Since my mom and my aunt are very close, we cousins
were very close. He was always at our house, and believe me when I say all the
time. Even when he was teaching in the Christian school, on school days he would
come. Sometimes he would come straight to my house from school, without going
home. I really liked that and was always very happy to see him. Phillip Cabillo
Jr. is for me an irreplaceable cousin and person. I hope many people can learn
from him and will never forget him. I am proud of saying Phillip was my cousin,
and I think I was lucky to be his cousin.
Also I am really grateful that people came
from many places to Phillip's funeral and it was also nice to hear many people
say testimonies and nice things about my cousin.

as his personal testimony are all being compiled. I will keep you

The Return of the
King
A.
Ladies and Gentlemen. Ladies and Gentlemen. Ladies and
Gentlemen.
I AM ECSTATIC
Am I
dreaming? Somebody pinch me. No wait, I want to enjoy this. DC, our suffering is OVER. This is like Vince Lombardi coming
back from the grave to rescue his dying team.
To
cover this HUGE event, IPF correspondent Sam John
has written a piece.
You can find it in The NFL RUNDOWN.
Now, let's talk football.
Joe
Gibbs IS THE MAN. Not only is he THE MAN, he is one of the greatest coaches in the history of the
NFL. The REDSKINS
have been given their best present in 12 years.
I know that a
lot of you don't follow football, or could even care less, but here is why this
event is different from other Redskins events I have reported on.

Joe
Gibbs is an absolutely amazing person, and a winner overall. He is a
devout Christian, and I can remember him praising God consistently after being
interviewed. Growing up, this man has been one of my true heroes, for his
attitude, life, and his results. 3 Super Bowl Wins, 2 Winston Cup
Championships.
The
Legend of this man has grown over time, not diminished. Know
why? Well, since he left the team in '93, the Redskins have completely
gone into the toilet. We have been to the playoffs a total of ONCE, since
he's left.
His
hiring is shocking, just shocking. Joe Gibbs has no reason to come
back. He has
3 SUPER BOWL RINGS with
3 different quarterbacks, and is among
the top coaches EVER, and YET, he came back. Here is my take:
Joe Gibbs has always been committed to Washington. He has his own youth
foundation, similar to the one Darrell Green has, and therefore has ties to the
community. But you know what the main reason is? He loves the
Redskins, and their fans, and as he watched the decline of the franchise, he
decided to do something about it. The dolla' bills probably didn't hurt

Welcome Home, YAR
2004, Tourney Preview?
A.
It's official. '04 is here. Welcome Home.
B.
YAR 2004: Roughly 66
people attended this year, and let me say that I'm really getting something out
of these YAR events. I think the main theme that stuck with me, has been
not to be a lukewarm Christian.
Also,
I thought the prayer requests from the different churches were very, very,
effective and heart felt.
You
know, we're all getting
older, and
realizing that we need to actually get something from God, instead of just
coming to church. Other wise, we're wasting our time.
Lots
of pics & media on the way, so stand by. You know how we do.
Shout
out to Chris from Toronto for taking pics during the football game.
In
other YAR events:
Yes,
we played football. A mostly DC team soundly
defeated a
group of mixed church challengers, 4-2.
Twisted
my ankle a little bit though. The funny thing is, I didn't notice it until
half way through the meeting on Saturday night. I stood up to sing, and
was like WHOA, what is up with this, and promptly sat down.
Perhaps
I should hang up the cleats? Hmm..........no.
Tourney
2004 Preview?
Has Philly
been given notice? Apparently so, according to the Strong
Island Stunnaz.
The Stunnaz went 1-1 in a series with Philly.
According
to unpublished reports, Strong Island was able to neutralize Philly's main
guns. Philly of course, reminded everyone that they went 1-1 with the
Stunnaz, and not 0-2.
C.
NFL Playoffs 2004: IPF Columnist Jon
Flores was
right on the money with his predictions, as both Dallas and Seattle got
booted.
Two
Words. Peyton Manning. Two more Words. Brett Favre.
I hope
the Pack send McNabb & Co. home. The Patriots are looking good, but I
can't see them winning 15 straight games ,
but they will beat Tennessee. Kansas City is suspect on
defense, they will get booted by Indy. The Rams will beat Carolina, but will go no further than that, losing in the nfc championship game.
D.
Finally, let me leave you with an
IPF preview. We have something very
special in store for you, straight out of the X factory, featuring one Paul
Moses. You're going to like it. Look for it Soon.
