Dear brother
Joseph and Benji and family members
May the Lord
comfort you all at this time. We both praise the Lord for the
memory of our dear sister Lilly. We were recipients of her
hospitality in your home and are deeply thankful to the Lord for
her goodness to us. She is free from pain now and the Lord took
her to himself in His perfect time. May the Lord encourage you
all at this time. Your brother and sister in Christ.
Emily Hempel
I remember when we all used to go to the retreats at Victory.
Even though I was little and wasn't very good at sitting still
and listening through the meetings, I always enjoyed listening
to Sister Lilly's beautiful, gentle, and quiet testimonies. She
has set a wonderful example for me. You are all in my
prayers.
Mona Eubank
In 1 John 1:1 we read, "What was from the beginning, what we
have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked
at and touched with our hands...Lily lived a quiet hidden life
in God. I remember at the funeral of a mutual friend, she held
my hand, and just looked at me with so much love, and I knew she
prayed for me, and for my family. Her memory gives me a reason
to press hard into God for such gentleness, and kindness. May
God help you all in your time of loss, and grief. With Love, and
prayers, Mona Eubank

Blessings upon you and your family. She was a shining light for
God and it will only be a short time till we see her again in
glory. God bless and you are in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I am
thankful that we had the opportunity to meet Sister Lily and see
her example, especially her meek and quiet spirit and the grace
that she brought over the entire home. May God abundantly
comfort you all.

I remember her for the shameless persistence of prayer and faith
in our Lord. I don't remember even a single Sunday meeting
when I was there that she had not prayed.
Of course she was an excellent cook was secondary.
Let us rejoice in the hope that she will have a part in the
first resurrection and together we shall all ascend to the Lord
on His second coming.
Please give my love and this message from me to your dear dad
too.

Sister Achiamma Arthungal was a great example for me, not only for
me, but for all women. I came to know her more closely at the
time of Simu’s and Becky’s marriage. Her patience, endurance and
godly response at all occasions, her loving nature and her
thankful heart are great qualities for every married woman to
emulate. Her departure from this world is a great loss for the
family, and for the churches and lives that have been touched by
her endearing qualities.

Sister Achiamma Arthungal was a burning and a shining light: and
we were willing for a season to rejoice in her light. The Lord
gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the
Lord. Her memories will linger on in our hearts till we see her
in glory.

I am so sorry. All my deepest sympathy, love, and prayers, every
part of me goes to you, Betty, Becky, Joseph, and your family.
I have not been the best friend since I've left, and I don't
know if I ever told you how much your family meant to me,
especially your mother, especially in my greatest time of need.
I was far away from my own family, and I do not exaggerate and
or lie when I say your parents became my parents away from home
and your home became my home away from home. Lilly took me into
her home, more importantly, she took me into her heart. And her
love, care, and advice, along with Joseph's, helped to show me
how wonderful a place the world is when I thought indeed it was
a dark and lonely place.
It is a testament to your mom that I have never met a more
embracing and loving family. In fact, to this day, your
parents' home, your mom's cooking (especially of the sad little
bluegill we caught), her hugs, and the sweet way that she said
my name in her accent--she reminds me so much of my own
mother--that the time I spent in your home, with your family,
with your mom, will always be one of the brightest memories I
have, one of the warmest, sunniest corners of my heart. Please
tell me if there is anything I can do. And when you feel ready,
I want very much to come down and visit. And I mean it. I miss
you all very very much. And I can't wait to meet your wife and
children. I miss your mom especially, and though now I will
always miss her, I want you to know that love is the
overwhelming emotion I feel right now, and I hope it is the same
for you and yours. I love you all.

I am very sorry
to hear this news. Your mother was a wonderful lady as you
know. I have good memories of her kindness when I visited. I
know she is with the Lord now. Our prayers are with you and
your family. Please give your dad my condolences.

Dear Bro Joseph and children,
I share in the loss of Sis Lilly. Yours was the
loss of a wife, a companion, a co-worker, a sister, a mother.
Mine was the loss of an older sister, a mother in the Lord. I
am gripped with the sense that death (parting) was not God’s
intention. But I am also gripped with the sense that God, in a
way that only He can do, has made what seemed to be a mistake
into something so much better. Through all of your sufferings,
mixed with faithfulness, Sis Lilly’s and your glory has
increased all the more, and will redound to the glory of God.
Life is so long, so seemingly tenuous at times.
There is an enemy who is hell-bent on our destruction. There is
a world of distractions, and there lies an enemy within. There
are so many opportunities to fail, to compromise. This makes
crossing the finish line of such a glorious magnitude that the
angels lean forward, and the Son of God stands off His throne.
Sis Lilly is home, at last. She has fought a
good fight. She has finished her race, a race that all of us
can attest to. She has kept the faith. It would be unthinkable
for anyone of us to try to call her back. She would protest to
the Lord, and He would sustain her objection.
I can vaguely imagine, based on the testimony of
the Bible and faithful witnesses, what she is experiencing. She
is loosed from all the bondage of this corruption. She can jump
higher than anyone of us. She can run faster. She can fly.
She can communicate without any hindrance (delays). With one
small step, imagine how far she has surpassed all of us in the
revelation of the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in
his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Her veil has been forever
removed.
It is appropriate for all of us to reflect on a
life well-lived. May God give us grace to take our time, to
reflect, and learn, and receive help for our own races. May the
Lord give you special grace in healing the wounds created by
parting. And may you be consoled the rest of the days of your
pilgrimage with the hope of reunion.
Your loving friend and brother, forever, Bro
Larry

Lily Aunty was a very sweet and gentle person. The one thing i
remember her most was her smile. She always seemed to smile. She
will be missed greatly but we will see her on the other side.

Dear Betty,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mrs
Arthungal's service today was a beautiful tribute to an amazing

you. I love you.
