Full BSC Tournament Recap - Congrats to DCZ Finest on winning their sixth BSC Championship!

GAME OF THE YEAR: Gburg Slashers VS Strong Island Stunnaz (PLAYOFFS). Gburg wins it's first ever playoff game advancing to the second round. The runner-up game of the year was Newark VS Chicago which went into double overtime!

Shout outs:  I want to take this time to shout out the following people.  Without their help, this event could not have happened.  Crystal George, Justin George, Calvin Thomas, Melvin George & all the players who helped out.  To anyone I missed, many thanks for your support.

  Final 2022 BSC Power Rankings

DCZ Finest: DC hadn't won a BSC championship since 2014. A lot of people felt this teams best days were behind them. They were way past their prime. Tell that to DCZ Finest. Winning their record sixth BSC championship, led by team captain Jarvis Thomas, and David Kadiri, who won his BSC record fourth MVP award. Kareem Suma also had a big contribution earning an All-Star trophy. Let it be known, DC is back!!

Philly: What a year of resurgence for the Philly Ballazz. Not only did they bring a huge fan contingent with them, the team itself was huge, a 17 man roster. Led by team captain Rocky Singh, Philly propelled to a 4-1 regular season record. Onyekachi Nzeh was selected as a first team all-star. The team powered through the regular season and defeated the Baltimore Bullets, who in 2019 they had lost to. Philly eventually fell to DCZ Finest in the championship game but this team is SO SO CLOSE to returning to its championship DNA!!

Baltimore Bullets: Never underestimate the will of a former champion. The 2019 champs started the 2022 BSC slow, but rallied on Saturday to finish with a 3-3 regular season record. Led by team captain Teddy Owusu, selected as a first team all-star and Brandon Farmer-Younger, also selected as a first team all-star. Baltimore ultimately fell to Philly in the second round of the playoffs, but this team will be back contending in 2023!!

Gburg Slashers: Led by team captain, Calvin Thomas, the Gburg Slashers had their best year in franchise history, winning their first ever playoff game in team history against Strong Island, before losing in the second round of the playoffs. The addition of Alvin Rathinam, Hans & Hanan Maryil along with the rebound machine that is Rucky Likekele, Gburg has officially changed its narrative as of 2022.

Strong Island Stunnaz: Led by team captain Bensen Oomman, who was selected as an all-star along with Jabar Williams (who played through injuries), also selected as an all-star. Strong Island finished the regular season with a 3-2 record, before falling to Gburg in the first round of the playoffs. We expect big things from this team in 2023!

Newark: Led by team captain, Jacinth Panicker, the runner-up team from 2019 had injuries to two of their front line players, Joby Jacob & Sam Kurian which impacted their 2022 campaign. Aby Jacob was selected to a first team all star award. Still, this team was able to make the playoffs before falling to Baltimore in the first round.

Chicago UntouchaBULLS: Chicago was in every game they played in 2022, including a double overtime loss to Newark. For the first time since 2008, Chicago had players selected as all stars. Not one, but two. Daniel Mathew and Jerome Reginold. A very impressive feat. This team has earned massive respect and taken huge strides. We look for them to take the next step in 2023!!

2023 BSC First Look: As the BSC moves to our 19th year, we remain in our most competitive ERA ever, with five different champions in the last six years. It's so good to be BACK IN ACTION, and we look forward to a great 2023 BSC!! We're BACK!!
