2011 IPF-Volleyball Classic: Aug 27th Schedule of Events

ARRIVE EARLY!!  Please keep in mind that we have a fixed time period we can be in the gyms, so BE PROMPT.  It is appreciated.

Regular Season Format:  In the regular season, every team will play a total of 4 games.  The 4 teams with the best records will advance to the playoffs. 

Playoff format:  The #1 seed will play the #4 seed and the #2 seed will play the #3 seed.  The winners will then face off in the championship game.  Seeding is determined first by regular season record, then by the matchup result during the regular season, and finally by the total points scored.

Game Format

REGULAR SEASON

1.       Each team will play 2 sets of games with each of their opponent

2.       Each game will be played  to 25 points, win by 2 but capped at 27 points

3.       The teams that are not playing will be scoring and officiating lines for the games

PLAYOFFS & CHAMPIONSHIP

1.       Each qualifying team will play best 2 out of 3 games.

2.       The first 2 games will be played  to 25 points, win by 2 but capped at 27 points

3.       If a 3rd game is necessary, it will be played to 15 points, win by 2 but capped at 17 points

QUALIFICATION FOR PLAYOFFS

1. The top 4 teams make the playoffs.

2. The seeding is determined by this order:

  • Records
  • Match ups in the Regular Season. Meaning if two teams have the same record, the team that won the match up will get the higher seed
  • Total Points scored
